IPC-7711 (CIS)

A 5-day, advanced course for anyone responsible for quality and reliability of reworked or repaired electronic assemblies.

Description

IPC-7711 certification is for anyone involved in reworking electronic components on printed circuit boards. IPC-7711, the rework portion, provides industry-approved techniques for through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) rework. This certification equips individuals with the skills needed to rework costly electronics assemblies, ultimately reducing costs and waste associated with discarding flawed assemblies. The IPC-7711 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) course offers a portable credential signifying one's understanding of IPC-7711. The course covers various topics, including component removal and installation, heating methods and conformal coating removal. Previous soldering experience is recommended. To earn the certification, participants must demonstrate recommended wire splicing techniques, perform Plated Through-Hole and SMT component removal and installation, and pass exams with a 70% or better average score on IPC examinations.
