IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space

This five-day course emphasizes the differences between the base document and the Space addendum. It includes one day of lecture/testing and 4 days of intensive hands-on appropriate for all levels of certification.

Description

*IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is required in order to take this course

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum training program offers individuals a credential that validates their expertise in creating wire and cable harnesses for space flight applications. This course covers the specific requirements for producing assemblies capable of withstanding the challenging conditions of space travel, including vibration and thermal cycling. Instructors who complete this program can then impart this knowledge to Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) candidates in the IPC A-620 space addendum.

The training primarily consists of hands-on instruction, but it also includes a mandatory exam that assesses understanding of the standards and related IPC A-620 guidelines for wire and cable harness acceptability. To enroll in the IPC-A-620 Space Addendum instructor course, students must have already earned the IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIT certification as a prerequisite. CITs are certified for 24 months and are qualified to teach IPC/WHMA-620-A CIS (Operator) space hands-on students.
