IPC/WHMA-A-620 (CIT)

This training utilizes the text and images of the 620 standard to assist in the discrimination between an acceptable or reject assemblies and process support. This is a "train the trainer" course.

Description

IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is for individuals aiming to deliver Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) training and enhance employee skills and performance in the cable and wire harness industry. IPC/WHMA-A-620, the Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies standard, is internationally recognized and serves as the primary benchmark for end-product acceptance. Certification reflects a commitment to continuous improvement in product quality and reliability and significantly supports ISO and other quality assurance initiatives. The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) course provides a portable credential signifying one's understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620.

Ideal candidates for certification include quality supervisors, trainers with expertise in electronic assembly, and engineering and manufacturing supervisors. The course focuses on improving discrimination skills, enabling accurate determinations of cable and wire harness assembly acceptability based on the IPC/WHMA-A-620 specification. While it's a lecture-only course, there is an option to add an extra day for hands-on skills training. To earn certification, participants must reference the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard for accept/reject decisions, proficiently conduct operator courses as per IPC requirements, explain IPC terminology and definitions, and achieve an overall score of 80% or better on IPC examinations. Materials are provided for the course.
